Pinnacle Bank Championship Presents $40,000 to Children’s Hospital & Medical Center

November 25, 2020

Five additional charities to receive donations

The Pinnacle Bank Championship Presented by Aetna announced today the tournament will present Children’s Hospital & Medical Center with a check for $40,000 at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday, November 25, 2020 at Children’s. Through the four years of the Championship, the event and its partner agencies have given more than $350,000 to area charities supporting such organizations as JDRF, Cystic Fibrosis and the First Tee Omaha.

“We are very grateful for this generous donation, which reflects how this incredible community rallies behind its children and its only hospital exclusively dedicated to serving children,” says Chanda Chacón, Children’s president & CEO. “Your support helps us continue to improve the lives of children through excellent clinical care, advocacy, research and education.”

“Our event is based on supporting our community through volunteer and financial support,” said Jeff Jorth, board chairman of Support Nebraska. “Providing these donations further aligns the values of the Championship and its connection to greater Omaha.”

In addition to Children’s, donations were also made to Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, The First Tee-Omaha, JDRF, 22Kill, PGA Reach Nebraska and The Truck Charities, bringing the total 2020 contributions to $105,000.

The Pinnacle Bank Championship Presented by Aetna will see several major changes at its 2021 event. The Korn Ferry Tour announced earlier this month that the Championship will serve as the Tour’s Regular Season finale with 25 PGA TOUR cards being awarded after the final round of competition. The event is set to be contested August 9-15, 2021 and will have all four days aired live on the GOLF Channel.

“Even though we weren’t able to have fans at the Championship this year, we are thrilled that we can still give back to Omaha charities,” said Tournament Director, Jessica Brabec. “It’s a testament to the mission of the event and Support Nebraska that the charity aspect of our event still provides an annual impact.”
